As for your article “War on Cops” based on the rash of Police shootings in the last few days, i can give you an idea as to why this may be happening. I retired from the NYPD in 2005 after 34 years, and all of it on the street. (my last 14 years as a Homicide Investigator) Todays young officers are being trained with the main emphasis on political correctness, diversity, and sensitivity, not how to survive in the real world. This causes them to delay in their reaction, something that can get you killed in a heartbeat. Also, and this is especially true in large “urban” areas, their #1 priority is not keeping the streets safe, but being sure not to offend anyone. This may be quite PC, but in the end, it’s the law abiding citizens who are the real losers.
I think the wikileaks fella shouldn’t be charge with any crime. He’s reporting on news about the government. The government doesn’t like its crimes exposed and all of the stupid talk that they do when talking about other governments or their politicians. At one time in history, we had the news media reporting on what the government and politicians were up to. Now the news media seems to be only a mouthpiece for the government.
Just finished Heart of Ice another GREAT book can’t wait for the next one to see what happens with Nic and the gang.
